  • Straw is a by-product of the grain harvest. It is currently hardly used and does not compete with food production. Straw is an excellent insulating material with a similarly low thermal conductivity value as expanded polystyrene. It has therefore been used to insulate buildings for over 100 years.
  • As insulation packaging, straw has the advantage that it regulates moisture.
  • Due to the good restoring force of straw, even shock- and pressure-sensitive goods can be shipped safely protected.

The use of additives such as preservatives or adhesives is completely avoided in the production of the Landbox®. The consumer receives a purely natural product that can be disposed of without any problems or used in a household environment, for example as bedding or in the garden. The panels can be easily loosened up for this purpose.

  • The cooling capacity depends on the outside temperature, the number of cooling elements, the temperature of the goods, the internal volume and the type of packaging arrangement (in particular, prevent voids).
  • The Landbox® reaches a temperature range of ‑1°C to 4°C for up to 65 hours.

The high insulating effect of the Landbox® is based on the fact that all physical mechanisms of heat transport, namely heat conduction, convection and heat radiation are effectively minimised. Thus, a thermal conductivity value similar to that of expanded polystyrene is achieved.

We offer three different versions of the Landbox®:

  • Landbox® Duo for separate disposal of straw core and wrapping or both in residual waste.
  • Landbox® Bio for disposal as a whole in organic waste.
  • The Landbox® is produced with minimum energy consumption, using only green electricity from hydropower. All components are biodegradable. The raw material straw is purchased locally from farmers.
  • As the landbox® consists of individual panels, it is important that the landbox® closes well and that the panels are arranged in a perfect fit. The panels are manufactured with a small oversize so that they can be inserted with a little pressure.
  • In general, the cooled space should be kept as small as possible. Unfilled inner volume must be stuffed with filling material.

The straw is grown especially for us according to special specifications, so that each step of the process can be completely controlled. Before processing, it is microbiologically tested and only used in perfect condition. The processing procedure ensures that the Landboxes® are hygienically clean. Independent institutes continuously check this.

Dry ice works perfectly in combination with the Landbox®.

  • We recommend food-safe filling paper or air cushions.
  • starch-based filling material is unsuitable because it sticks easily in damp conditions.

Consumer opinions from the network about Landpack packaging

I am totally satisfied, the deliveries are always on time, the goods are super packed (great idea — cardboard, straw and frozen water) and I don’t need to say anything about the quality. Grade 1 from me

Rita S., 17.02.2017

There is simply nothing to be done better about the packaging. The cold packs were still frozen when the parcel arrived, so you can be sure that the cold chain was not interrupted by the delivery.

Gerald L., 14.06.2017

Everything perfect — great goods, innovative packaging

Moni P., 28.03.2017

Very great products, practical and at the same time very attractive packaging. With pleasure again

Katja S., 27.12.2016

Punctual, super packed, surprise was the new packaging form — great idea. Everything fresh, best quality.

J N., 10.12.2016

From the order to the delivery of the goods I would like to award the full stars.
Super was also the packaging with the straw plates, instead of styrofoam.
You can use the straw for tinkering.

Helga E., 21.12.2016

Packaging is insulated with pressed straw instead of styrofoam. Very good. Nevertheless, cooling accus had not defrosted by the evening. Then I could spread the straw on my beds.

Renate K., 11.07.2017

I couldn’t agree more. Outstandingly good products, sensible packaging; I am a repeat offender :D

Henriette D.

I would particularly like to praise the new environmentally friendly packaging. I have already praised the product quality and the price/performance ratio several times. Keep up the good work, we wish the team every success

Jürgen L., 01.06.2017

Goods delivered very well protected. Personal, handwritten letter was enclosed with the shipment. Would order again and again there.

Edeltraud K., 16.01.2017

I was very impressed by the ecological cooling packaging :-)
