Our pioneering work honored with international patents

Now it’s official: our pioneering work in the processing of natural fibres has been comprehensively honoured with international patents.

When Landpack was founded in 2013 by Dr. Thomas and Patricia Maier-Eschenlohr, the global status quo in refrigerated shipping was the classic Styrofoam box. The public launch of the Landbox Straw in 2015 and the numerous innovation awards that followed were a wake-up call to the entire industry and its customers.

Since then, a new environmental awareness has developed in the packaging industry. New, more ecological materials are being experimented with and plastic and paper are increasingly being questioned as supposed best practice materials.

In the future, the focus will increasingly be on residual materials in order to enable a true cascade use and sustainable circular economy. Our technologies, products and production processes for processing pure natural fibers into molded parts without any additives are comprehensively protected by European and American patents and our pioneering work in the field of natural packaging is recognized accordingly.

This puts us among the 6 % of European green startups that have patented technology.*
